Despite the still beautiful temperatures here in Sicily, the beaches and beach-side resorts are left completely deserted over the winter months.

During the summer season when temperatures rise to over 30’C, Arenella, along la Costa del Sole becomes one of the busiest public beaches in the area. From June to August, tourists and locals alike flock to the sandy bars and beach-side resorts to enjoy the Sicilian sun.

At a frigid 20’C in mid-November, the seaside resorts and cabanas are all (unfortunately) closed for the winter, but that just makes it all the better for exploring. Just watch out for a few stray dogs and you’ll be fine!

Makes me really want to stay for the whole summer …
